Stop ICE Cruelty
We must bear witness to the terrorist tactics being deployed against our neighbors here in Oregon and around the country.
Children are being traumatized, lives are being destroyed, businesses are collapsing. Let's stand together to witness, publicize, and protest the cruelty ICE is inflicting daily while they continue to operate outside of the law and our community norms. We are demanding Liberty and Justice for All 🗽
☕ Stay after for a hot beverage and some Good Trouble talk - there are several good choices in easy walking distance.

November Monthly Meeting
We are back to our home base at Grant Park Church! Join us for solidarity, friendship, and good trouble.
If you are keeping up with the weekly "What's the Plan" discussion on Thursdays at noon with Indivisible founders Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin, you've heard about the launch of the largest Democratic Primary Program in Indivisible history, one to help us build an opposition party that lives up to the name. Is that a fit for us here in Blue D2 in Blue Oregon? We'll talk about that, and the call for Chuck Schumer to step down and make way for new leadership in the Senate caucus.
We'll have tea and coffee. Bring a friend, and something to share for the coffee break if you like.

UPDATED: November Book Club
Change of plan for this week’s book club meeting. Sorry for the late notice, but we just found out that Kelly Hayes, co-author of our assigned book, Let This Radicalize You, is speaking at Powell’s (downtown) at 7 p.m. this Thursday. She and a contributing writer will be discussing her new edited book, Read This When Things Fall Apart, that explores the similar themes of practical support for “activists and organizers building power under fascistic, demoralizing conditions.” Hard to ignore this happy coincidence, so we decided it would be wise to take advantage of the opportunity to hear directly from the author and be able to ask questions.
Please join us at Powell’s on Thursday evening, whether you’re a regular book club attendee or just curious. If there’s interest, we can convene over a beverage afterwards to carry on the discussion. Finally, since we had already allotted 2 meetings to cover Let This Radicalize You anyway, this won’t disrupt our schedule too much. We’ll just roll over the two readings to our December meeting. More details to come.
What’s the Plan? A Weekly Discussion with Indivisible’s Co-Founders
Join Indivisible co-founders Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin each week, as we carve out an hour to discuss what’s happening and – more importantly – what’s the plan.
About this event
The onslaught of news, the chaos coming out of the White House – it’s all meant to overwhelm us. It’s a deliberate strategy to sow confusion and make us believe we are powerless to fight back.
The antidote: Coming together in community to process what’s happening, to sift through what’s important and what’s just noise, and coalesce around strategies for fighting back.

One Million Rising
Strategic Non-Cooperation and Defiance are some of the most powerful sorts of nonviolent methods because they involve directly weakening and removing a regime’s sources of social, political, and economic power.
Portland Metro fellow compatriots: Plan to join us for training in Effective Strategic Defiance & Non-Cooperation. You'll come away with ideas, tools and resources to share with your own group, community, neighborhood.
Millions Rise - regular folks like you and me are building a powerful national opposition network as we connect with each other in local non-violent organizing and non-cooperation actions.
These trainings are hosted by a coalition of Indivisible groups in Portland. One Million Rising is a national coordinated non-cooperation movement to obstruct and disrupt the Trump regime.
This is empowering, uplifting information and we'll train you to share this information, host actions and gatherings with your own community. There is an essential role for each of us.

Signs of Solidarity: Coffee and Canvas
Signs of Solidarity is our project to build a stronger network of support in our community. We are engaging small businesses as active supporters in the resistance and seeing nearly universal interest in wanting "Know Your Rights" info, including how to designate "PRIVATE" spaces at workplaces to protect employees if ICE comes calling. Together we're standing up for our immigrant neighbors.
Meet us for coffee, a short training, materials and for those who wish, we'll pair you with a buddy
Visit local businesses in the PCC Cascade/Jefferson High School neighborhood.
Share valuable Know Your Rights information & PIRC hotline access, a sign for their window and a sign for their "employees only" area.
Regroup back at Coffeehouse 5 afterward to debrief, share comments, questions & planning next steps.
