Last Saturday's general meeting provided many opportunities to hear from our very active teams working on voter registration, get-out-the-vote efforts, election protection, mutual aid, and more! We also heard about the developing plans for a "Rock the Vote" type event for No Kings on Oct. 17 that we're working on in collaboration with D3 and SEIU, and the D2 Candidate Forum on Oct. 18. Get Out the Vote Here in Oregon! |

Well, now we can all say we've seen the latest polling on the Governors race. We've all known it would be a tight race, and here are the numbers to prove it. After four years, we each have our own opinions of Kotek, but I'm wondering: is the very real possibility of having a Republican governor in the MAGA era setting in for people?
Well, we still have time to ACT! But the time is NOW!
Support a Specific Campaign You can canvass or phone bank for a campaign. Find opportunities to support the Bynum and Kotek campaigns through Mobilize. |

This week, Lars is writing to reps about the administration's deplorable program of deporting people to third countries. The UN has now identified this practice as a human rights violation. Over 25,000 persons are now reported to have been deported in this fashion, and the deportation flights are occurring with increasing frequency. Further, the Administration is using grants to U.N. relief programs in the receiving countries as an integral part of their program. That threatens the effectiveness of those U.N. efforts by creating an appearance of collusion with the Administration's deportation program. Use his well researched template to contact your reps today!
Lars is also writing about the DHS "SAVE" system being promoted by the Administration for voter validation. It is well documented to produce many errors - mislabeling U.S. citizens as "invalid" voters. The use of this very flawed system for a purpose so important and fundamental as voter verification is extremely inappropriate. Let your reps know you refuse to be quiet as the administration tries to disenfranchise voters!

| Hens for solidarity! Eggs for all!
Here's a great opportunity for D2 Neighbors looking for an easy way to get involved in immigrant solidarity. Donate fresh eggs to families in need in North and Northeast Portland, and at the same time support an immigrant-owned Oregon farming business. Of course, you can also purchase an egg CSA subscription for yourself! The hens are free-range on organic pasture. Families receiving donated eggs are low-income and include many immigrant households who need special support right now. To donate eggs or to subscribe to the CSA, visit: https://trent-family-farms.myshopify.com/
