D2 Neighbors General Meeting Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Grant Park Church This Saturday, we're focusing on midterm election actions. We will have special guests from Gov. Tina Kotek's campaign, Rep. Bynum's campaign, and an organizer from Seed The Vote. You can also expect to hear from our D2 teams focused on local and national elections and how you can get involved. We can't wait to see you! Also, we'll be collecting donated groceries once again for families impacted by ICE detention. This month, we're looking for: white rice, dried pinto and black beans (not canned, please), masa, corn husks, dish soap and sponges, canned tomatoes and peppers, and kid snacks. Please take a moment to register for the meeting, and if you're able to, consider bringing a snack to share with the group during our coffee break! |

D2 National Field Trip Recruitment
We are all in for American democracy! Portland D2 Neighbors Indivisible is partnering to go to Michigan with Seed the Vote this fall for election protection and canvassing!
Come and join us in knocking doors and campaigning for two progressive Democratic Senate candidates: Dr. Abdul El-Sayed and William Lawrence (MI-7). This is going to be an extremely competitive race and there is a need for election protection in the state of Michigan according to the Voting Rights Lab heat map index.
Seed the Vote started in Oakland in 2020 and has led 31 canvassing campaigns in 10 states and knocked on 675,000 doors since 2020! Invited by local community partners, we will participate in door-knocking, canvassing, and election protection. The first trip will be deep canvassing in late September/October and we are hoping to make a 2nd trip for election protection closer to the election dates. If you missed the August meeting, you can sign up with @Nora Stern or @Saskia Hostetler Lippy on Slack.
Our kickoff meeting is Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Double Mountain Brewery on Killingsworth. Pods are forming soon so please sign up ASAP!
Can’t travel? Donate to STV Oregon Act Blue account here.
We will be announcing other at-home opportunities to contribute to in the coming weeks. |

Save the Date! D2 Annual Potluck |
|
|
|
| Save the Date! Annual Portland D2 Neighbors Indivisible Picnic/Potluck Saturday, Sept. 12 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Daybreak Co-Housing (2525 N. Killingsworth)
D2 will provide Burritos (yum) and cold drinks (seltzer, etc.). You are invited to bring side dishes and desserts. Alcohol is OK in moderation. BYOB. We also encourage you to bring cold water in a reusable container so we are not contributing to single-use plastic waste. And, if you’re really into reducing plastic waste, you might consider bringing some reusable flatware.
This is a great opportunity to invite someone who might be interested in getting more information about Indivisible and the rewarding work we do while having a great time. We have enough chairs for the expected number of attendees, but feel free to bring extra (camp?) chairs if you feel you might need them. |

Artists and Creatives! Submit Your D2 Bandana Design!

D2 Outreach Team Members
We need a small team of folks to lead outreach for D2. This group would organize tabling events, connect with community partners, and identify and lead opportunities to help D2 be more active in our broader N/NE Portland community. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, give us a shout on Slack or email us!
